Mary E. Singletary, President Emeritus 

Ms. Singletary is the immediate past president of the National Council of Women of the United States. 
Ms. Singletary is a retired Registered Nurse and previously served as the Director of the New Jersey Division for Women, an appointment by then Governor Thomas Kean, where she created a greater public awareness regarding women’s issues through public outreach and legislation. 

Saideh Browne, President and Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Browne is a leading-edge feminist who is passionate about women's economic empowerment and social justice. She has written nine books and is a front-line advocate for matters of concern to women. 

Lauren Cullen, Vice President

Ms. Cullen is currently a student at the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership. She is studying International and Global Studies.

Caroline Themm, 2nd Vice President

Caroline F. Themm worked for more than twenty years as an insurance broker in the Casualty Department for a major insurance broker. In her retirement, she commits her professional skills to performing as a United Nations Representative for Soroptimist International.

Dahana Louis, Secretary

Ms. Louis has more than seven years of experience working for various organizations and on multiple causes/campaigns dear to her heart. She has served as co-administrator of the VDAY campaign at Hunter College for four (4) consecutive years holding various positions. At present, she holds the post of Overnight Supervisor of the Transitional Housing Program at Ali Forney Center. She received her B.A from Hunter College.


Paquita W. Henderson, Treasurer

P.W. Henderson a retired Internal Revenue Service Agent. She holds a MBA in Finance from Clark Atlanta University, and a B.A. in Business. Administration and Accounting (Cum Laude) from Lincoln University. She worked with the Criminal Investigation Division as an Auditing and Tax Law Expert. While there she prepared Appeals, civil and criminal penalties, and confidential reports in criminal and civil cases. Henderson assisted with IRS Appeals, IRS District Counsel, the FBI, and US Attorney offices in preparing information for trials as required.

Dr. Kathryn Malvern, Member-a-Large (not pictured) 

Dr. Malvern has maintained active membership in NCW/US for seventeen years. She is President and CEO of Azure View Homes, owner of Strengthen Publishing Company, author and publisher, grant writer and business woman. Dr. Malvern is a retired Rutgers University Professor and Senior Central Office School District Administrator. Her university work includes earned Bachelor’s degree from Howard University, Masters degree from the University of Southern California and a Doctorate from Rutgers University.

Bette Levy, Member-a-Large (not pictured)

Bette Levy is a Permanent Representative to the United Nations/New York Centre for Soroptimist International and is actively involved with a number of NGO committees. Bette is the Treasurer of the NGO Committee for Social Development, a member of the Core Committee of the Poverty Eradication subcommittee, the co-facilitator of the European/North American CSW Caucus, and an active member of the Women’s Major Group (Sustainable Development). She is also co-convener of the Trauma work group of the NGO Mental Health committee and a member of the Working Group on Girls. Prior to retiring in 2011, she worked for the NYS Office of Mental Health for 38 years with an expertise in children/ families and disaster mental health. Currently, she is a Management/Culture Change Consultant with agencies that provide mental health and foster care services.
